Dusk Network Faucet Closure and Upcoming Re-Opening Announcement ๐
We want to remind our community that the Dusk Network Testnet Faucet has officially closed as of 11:59 PM CET on Saturday, 24th February. We appreciate everyone who participated and claimed their tDUSK in preparation for setting up nodes on the network. For those who couldn't make it before the deadline, read on!
Faucet Re-Opening Details
The faucet will re-open on Wednesday, 28th February, providing another opportunity for late joiners to stake and become part of the Dusk Network's Incentivized Testnet (ITN). This reopening is designed to accommodate our community members and ensure everyone has a chance to participate and contribute to the network.
Joining ITN After Re-Opening
- Late Participation: It will still be possible to join the ITN with tDUSK claimed from the faucet after Wednesday. We encourage everyone interested in supporting Dusk to take advantage of the faucet when it reopens.
- Meeting the 75% Uptime Requirement: Setting up a node after Wednesday is feasible, and participants can still meet the 75% uptime requirement. While achieving this may be more challenging the later you join, it remains a viable goal for dedicated network supporters. We urge new participants to set up their nodes as soon as possible after the faucet re-opens to maximize their chances of meeting this criterion.
Why the Closure and Re-Opening?
The decision to temporarily close and then reopen the faucet is intended to provide a buffer period. This approach ensures that all participants have sufficient time to set up their nodes properly and avoid any disappointment from last-minute requests. Our goal is to foster a smooth and inclusive process for everyone involved.
Next Steps
- For those planning to join after the faucet reopens, please review the [testnet faucet documentation](https://docs.dusk.network/itn/testnet-faucet/) to ensure you're prepared to claim tDUSK and set up your node efficiently.
- Stay tuned for the faucet's reopening on Wednesday, 28th February, and be ready to participate in the journey towards creating a more secure and privacy-oriented blockchain ecosystem.
We thank our community for its enthusiasm and support as we continue to grow and strengthen the network together. Your participation and feedback are invaluable to us.
