I want to take this opportunity to reaffirm that our team closely monitors everything communicated within our channels. It’s also a good moment to comment on a few key topics and provide a brief update on our progress. Staking Disabled on Kucoin Earn Section The sudden disabling of staking on Kucoin's Earn section came without any prior warning. It's important to remember that staking, while beneficial, was initially offered there because, at the time, it was the easiest and safe way for new users to participate in Hydra's staking economy. In 2021, there was no delegation option, and legacy Hydra staking was (and still is) relatively complex. With HydraGon, this barrier is removed and almost immediately post mainnet launch, users would easily and securely be able to delegate their stakes using Metamask or hardware wallets. As seen in other projects with really user-friendly staking options, most staking takes place in the core of the ecosystem, with exchanges becoming valuable extensions (but certainly not critical). Reactions to Released Staking Positions It's understandable that many users, especially those less involved with Hydra, may have been surprised to find their positions released from staking. These users had three choices: a) hold and do nothing, b) sell or rebalance, or c) seek information on how to delegate using the alternative options (HydraDex staking, mobile wallet staking or native node staking via windows or linux). While the price of Hydra may have reacted to these events, it’s crucial to emphasize that this has absolutely no bearing on the project’s technical progress or health. Kucoin, though valuable partner, remains just one centralized endpoint in our ecosystem. As a general rule, as market cap contracts, centralized exchanges have less appetite for a project, and as market caps increase, so does their interest, due to exposure to more users and potential income. The good thing is that despite the lessened market cap, the trading pair of Hydra remains a very active pair and statistically is on the upper scale of Kucoin. Debate on Hydra’s Supply Being Infinite The HydraGon version of Hydra introduces an industry-first consensus mechanism with algorithmic halvings based on price performance. In simple terms, Hydra's supply is market-aware, adjusting APR to stay competitive. When prices are strong, APR may increase; when prices falter, inflation adjusts downward automatically, ensuring fair market participation. This approach replaces traditional, fixed halvings with a more modern, data-driven solution. Hydra’s supply can only grow significantly if its price grows, linking security and adoption with its economic design. In a sense, having a high supply of Hydra in the future would actually be a "good problem" to have, as that would be tied to significant community adoption and potential price adjustment to it. Testnet and Mainnet HydraGon is ready as technology. At this point, there is no doubt about our capacity to deliver it in a production state (with, of course, respect for potential bugs in non-critical layers). We are preparing the deployment of the production-level testnet, which will include all the necessary security, optimizations, and infrastructure for the mainnet launch. In essence, this testnet is identical to what we’ll release for mainnet, marking a major milestone in our progress. It will also be identical to the mainnet deployment process. So what we will experience in the next few weeks as the next testnet version is literally a full-blown mainnet clone.
